Hello Everyone! I have been accepted onto Team Lemon to run the ING NYC marathon this year on November 4, 20121! I am raising funds for pediatric cancer for Alex's Lemonade stand in loving memory of my father, Leonardo Arevalo. Since Dad passed away this past April, I have found that running has given me the space and time to help me cope with this unexpected loss. Although I'm not very fast, and running is not something I have always enjoyed, I have used this time to remember and reflect. Sometimes I even find myself talking to him out loud, just as if he was right next to me again. I have accepted the challenge to train for my first ever marathon. As a pediatric nurse, it is an honor for me to raise funds for pediatric cancer with Alex's Lemonade stand in memory of my father.
