Meet my hero Brett :) I will be honoring Brett during my half marathon race in Wildwood for Alex's Lemonade Stand with Team Lemon. Brett is from Cape May Courthouse and I am hoping to meet the weekend of the big race!

On March 28, 2008, Brett was diagnosed with Stage 3 Wilms' Tumor, a form of pediatric cancer. He has been through a tremendous amount of treatment but at the present time is doing ok.

Please consider supporting Brett and myself as we run The Wild Half Marathon for Alex's Lemonade Stand. You can make donations now till August 26th. Remember... all donations are tax deductible!!

Kim,
Sorry we missed you!!! I took the kids down the finish line this morning around 8:15am and we stayed until about 10:30am, but couldn't find you (you probably went right by us and I wouldn't even know!) I was looking for some form of Team Lemon shirt or something and listening for your name the best I could. We were our Alex's shirts and I had a large double stroller, but no luck catching up with you unfortunately. Either way, just know how very proud we are of you and how honored we were that you chose to run in honor of my son and Alex's Lemonade, truly an inspiration! I cannot thank you enough and hope to meet you one day. If you get a chance, send us your home address! Brett would love to send you a picture he made for you thanking you for today. He brought it with him for when he saw you cross the finish line, but didn't work out as planned/hoped. Again, very sorry we missed eachother and I'll have to plan the meeting better next round! Again, congrats and thank you so very much!!!!!!
Your friends at the shore!

Less than 2 months to go!!  Training has been going well.  I've been hitting the gym 3x a week for weight training and been running 3-4 days.  If you've been following me on Facebook, I try to do at least 1-2 races per week to support local jaycees or charities.  These have helped me increase my pace time and get use to running in longer races.  Tomorrow I will be running a 6.2 mile race at Washington's Crossing on the Delaware River.  I'm at the half way point of training for the 13.1 this week where I plan on running 7 miles this weekend.  Running has been a huge stress reliever and I actually have not been running with music as of yet because running in part is a mental sport.    Wishing you all the best, Love and Hugs... Kimberly

Attention all walkers!!  You can still join the team!  The 1/2 Marathon is a “walker friendly” event, provided all participants complete the marathon within the 4-hour course time limit.  Please consider joining my team and have some fun in Wildwood!!
