When
I am running the Philadelphia Half Marathon this November with Team Lemon to help raise money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, including for research into new treatments and cures and because I believe this is a great charity in which to get children involved. I have been very blessed with four healthy children but I know several families whose lives have been affected by childhood cancer. What I have been most amazed about is the strength and resilience of the children fighting this disease, most notably the founder of Alex's Lemonade Stand, Alexandra Scott, a brave little girl whose strength and compassion inspire me. For those not aware, Alex, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma before her first birthday, defied all odds, and although she only lived until age 8, her courage and dedication to helping other sick children will live on forever. While bravely battling her own cancer, Alex held yearly lemonade stands in her front yard to benefit childhood cancer research. Prior to her passing, Alex had raised over $1 million. Alex's family have continued her legacy and now children all over the country host lemonade stands to benefit and raise awareness of childhood cancer. I would appreciate any help that you can give. Thank you, Christine
