Help Support Childhood Cancer Research One Cup at a Time!
Five years ago, my life was touched by my friend Andi's two-year-old daughter Mila, who was diagnosed with a terminal brainstem glioma astrocytoma tumor on September 6th, 2006. The tumor was inoperable. For the 9 months that Mila lived after being diagnosed, she showed nothing but courage and bravery every step of the way. Mila taught me, as well as thousands of others, to live each day to the fullest. Mila is my inspiration for wanting to become a Child Life Specialist, and my inspiration to help support childhood cancer research.
Our first lemonade stand will be held at Sobeys in Amherstburg on Friday April 6th, 2012 from 10am-3pm. Come out for some lemonade, lemon treats, bbq, music, face painting, and balloon twisters!!
All proceeds will go toward Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. All childhood cancer research done in the US helps kids across all of North America. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has funded over 200 research projects nationwide in over 50 institutions. To date, Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has raised over $45 million for childhood cancer research!
