Moving house, moving cities, moving jobs... not much time for blogging but I have been waking up and putting some miles in.  Today I ran in the Louisville Downtown Doubler 30K (18.6 miles).  It was a great event with about 700 runners.  At mile 14 Leigh, Sayre, Austen, Kellen were there to cheers me on, along with my in-laws Joan and Paul, and my cousins Aynsley and Tom.  They also cheered me home at mile 18.6 too.  The weather was perfect 60 degrees and a slight rain made the last few miles feel great.  The moment wasn't even spoiled by the fact I was running!

More soon.

July 25th

Morning Run - 10 long miles.  I made Oliver (the dog) run to the woods with me this morning despite the heat index of close to 90 degrees.  He had fun chasing the local deer.  I didn't have fun chasing after him.  An hour and a half after I started I came back to lay in an ice cold bath... pretty sure I wouldn't train for another marathon.  Sayre, my son asked, "Daddy where were you?"

I said,  "I was out running real far."

He said, "Why?"

I didn't have a good answer.  I asked him if I could have a few days to think about it.  he said, "OK."
