Two major parts of my summer include my internship at Minnesota Children's Hospital and running.  As a part of my Audiology internship, I have done many hearing tests for children diagnosed with cancer.  I have seen how painful and heartbreaking the battle against cancer can be for these children and their families.  There are no words to describe it.

As I am training for the Marine Corps Marathon, I have decided to use this opportunity to raise awareness and funding for childhood cancer research.  Alex's Lemonade Stand is a wonderful organization that was started by a little girl with cancer who raised money for cancer research by holding a lemonade stand.  Alex died from cancer, but today the organization continues to raise money for childhood cancer research grants.

It takes $38.17 to sponsor one mile of my goal supporting the fight against childhood cancer.  So sponsor part of a mile, a mile, or more.  Your donations will support childhood cancer research and travel funds for families that need to travel long distances with their children for cancer treatment.

I also have some great news: an anonymous donor will be matching all donations, up to $500!
