I became aware of this foundation through work and it truly made me cry. Years ago, a young girl named Alex with pediatric cancer decided to open a lemonade stand to raise money for other children alike herself, so they could afford treatments. In 2004, she passed away. But, her name lives on as her foundation continues to raise money for treatments for children who have cancer. When reading her profile, I could see so much of myself in her questionaire. Her birthday was only three days away from mine (seperated by 6 years), she loved Junie B. Jones and wanted to be a fashion designer. The only difference is that she was given a different path in life by God and she chose bravely to fight for not only herself, but others just like her. I understand that times are hard, but if you can spare even a dollar, it could be a dollar closer to a young child's fight against cancer. Imagine it was your child and that should make all the difference.
