This Just In...

Our total combined fundraiser including the Sour Face Race and online donations totals:   (Drum Roll Please!)

             $5,338.26!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you everyone for all of your hard work and support.  What an amazing experience we had this year reaching all of our students to help make a difference in the lives of families suffering with childhood cancer.  I would like to post a little adecdotal that brings it all into perspective.

While visiting the stand a second grader pulled me aside and asked to speak with me. She told me that she forgot to bring in her donation for the lemonade.  Just as I began to tell her not to worry about it she interrupted with this comment: "I have my lunch money for today and I figured it out that if I just buy lunch and not my cookies I will be able to donate exactly one dollar.  So, I am deciding to sacrifice my cookies today to help these other children who need the money a lot more than I need a chocolate chip cookie!"

I hugged this little girl with tears in my eyes and realized the impact of this program...
