I'm running the New York Marathon with Team Lemon to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer!

As many of you know, I've dedicated my career to pediatric oncology.  What you may not know is why.  It really started as an academic quest- it's nerdy but it's me!  I attended a special lecture in high school that talked about how cancer works and I became very interested in the research being done to treat this disease.  Little did I know when I started college that cancer was about to become much more personal.  During my freshman year, my best friend Nina was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma.  Over the next few years I learned a lot about cancer and its treatment through the lens of my friend, the patient.  Nina lost her battle, but the fire ignited in me through this experience still burns strong.  I'm blessed to work with these resilient kids and their families and honored to join them as they ring the bell to celebrate their end of therapy.
