My name is Haley Labdon and I am a current sophomore on Cape Cod looking to engage myself in community service through the things I am most passionate about, that being children, first and foremost, and the advocation for their health and future. By teaming up with such an inspirational organization, I am aiming to spread awareness about such a pressing topic, but along with that, open people of all ages eyes on the power they have to create change in their community and in the lives of others. Through my fundraiser that I have envisioned as a fun yet interactive and educational library event, kids and adults will be not only introduced to facts about childhood cancer and how it impacts the lives of so many, but how their help will actually make a difference in the lives of all those touched by such a horrible disease. I kindly ask that you donate not for absent minded support but because you have acknowledged that what you are giving directly translates into the homes of families facing childhood cancer. All donations will go to research, support to families that need it most, and advocation for more government funding. Above all, the sense of comfort families feel knowing they are not facing this alone is priceless, and that all starts with you! Whether it be 25 cents or 25 dollars, the support means the world to all those touched by childhood cancer. As Alex demonstrated through action, you are never too young to create massive, necessary changes to help the lives of others (especially children!) in really big ways.
