Dear Friends and Family,
Our daughter Katie was one of the lucky ones. She was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare but treatable form of bone cancer, at the age of five and was given an 80% survival rate. She endured nine months of grueling treatments.
And now -- Katie is a survivor! But for so many children diagnosed with cancer (there are nearly 800 new cases every day, adding up to an estimated 300,000 new cases every year worldwide), there's simply no cure.
And yet, pediatric cancers receive less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research. Our children deserve more -- more funding, more research, more life.
On November 7, I will run the New York City Marathon in support of Alex's Lemonade Stand -- running to cure childhood cancer.
Today, the money you donate has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of kids with cancer (and their families). Your donation will fund research into safer, more effective treatments and cures. Please give today!
Thank you so much!
