When
Hello Friends!
In August 2020, my younger sister, Rachel, was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, an incredibly rare pediatric bone cancer. Approximately 200 people are diagnosed a year, making up less than 1% of pediatric cancers. Most Ewing tumors show up in adolescence, though they can also affect children and adults.
The pandemic has greatly limited the ability for loved one's to be present the way they want to for individuals battling cancer. Though Rachel has a great prognosis and is responding well to treatment, research on this cancer is very limited. Given that I am unable to see her due to COVID-19 restrictions, I thought the next best thing I could do was raise money for Ewing's Sarcoma research.
As a marathon trainee and avid runner, I have decided the best use of my talents would be a virtual (and ongoing) race. I have the goal of running 200 miles between now and the beginning of July, with the intention of raising $10 for every mile I run. All donations will go directly to supporting Ewing's Sarcoma research. My family and I greatly appreciate any and all support.
Let's find a cure together!
With Much Love,
Conor
