When
Our daughter Margot was diagnosed with All B Cell Leukemia just two months shy of her second birthday. After 8 months of aggressive treatment, she began "maintenance" which included daily chemo, and every three months, a spinal tap, IV chemo, and 5 days of steroids. And on July 23, 2022, after 798 days of oral and IV chemotherapy, On July 23, 2022, she took her last dose of chemotherapy, she finally finished treatment. We will follow up with regular labs for 5 years, until she's 9 years old.
We are so grateful that ALL B is treatable. While the prognosis is promising, treatment is long, grueling, and extremely toxic. Most of these drugs are 60+ years old and were not even formulated for children. We want to do everything we can to make this horrible experience better for other parents and their children. To fund research and better treatment for all types of pediatric cancers – especially those that don't have a promising prognosis. We’re fundraising for some truly incredible research grants for new, innovative, and rigorous approaches that directly address the most intractable issues in pediatric cancer research.
Childhood cancer treatment is so underfunded, so this research everything to families who will be diagnosed in the months and years to come. If everyone who followed me donated the cost of a cup of coffee, we'd fully fund one of the research grants. Every dollar counts, and together, we can do something big. Let's make things better for other kids. These are our babies, and they deserve so much more.
