In the fall of 2015, one of my very favorite students of all time, Kristen Cammarota, passed away from cancer. In the fall of 2019, our dear friends' almost two-year-old daughter, Hadley, was diagnosed with brain cancer, and she has since recovered, but her family lives with the daily reminders of the horrors of childhood cancer. Everyone always says to families of kids with cancer, "I'm here for you! Just tell me what you need!" Well, I'm just going to go ahead and do something :-)! I usually run about 4 to 7.5 miles at a time, but this time we're going for the big 1-0!!! I've only ran 10 miles at a time ONCE since 2016 (on this past Saturday), and the streets of Springfield are super duper hilly, but I'm hoping with your support, prayers, and encouragement, I will make it through :-)!
