On September 22, 2018 I am running Georgia Jewel 100 mile run in Dalton, GA. I'm holding a fundraiser to support Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in Honor of Jack Stella.

Jack is a 6 year old boy diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. Jack is currently undergoing chemotherapy and spending a significant amount of time in the hospital as treatments take a toll on him and his family. Having two young boys myself the reality of his diagnosis hit home and the numbers are astonishing!

Every day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer affect children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancers each year.
