Maggie was diagnosed with a Wilms Tumor at age 5, which had just entered stage 3 at the time of surgery.  Thankfully, the surgeons were able to get 100% of the cancer removed, but it cost Maggie her left kidney.  Six months of chemotherapy was to follow, but Maggie was determined to bring some light to this dark time.  With gracious donations, Maggie would summon the strength of her favorite heroes to help with her fight.  During every treatment, she wore a bright and vibrant tutu, accompanied by a different character theme.  Not only did this little girl face this challenge head-on, but she also brought smiles to the faces of other children going through their own fight.  Not to mention the nurses and doctors.  Nearly 2 years since her last chemo, Maggie is still cancer free!  There are still the hospital visits every 3 months, but they now just seem like visits with old friends.
