Elks National Drug Awareness Program Announcement

The Elks National Drug Awareness Program (the largest drug education and awareness program in the United States) has announced a partnership with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. The Elks have more than 850,000 members and 2000 Lodges nationwide.

Annually Elks Lodges across the country organize events during Red Ribbon week (October 23 through October 31), and this year the Elks Drug Awareness Program is asking each of the over 2000 Lodges to hold a Lemonade Stand Event at their Lodge or in their community during this week. Kent Gade, Director of the Elks National Drug Awareness Program commented, "This is a great example of Elks helping another organization with values similar to ours - the Elks are known for providing service and support to those in need. When we met Jay Scott (father of Foundation creator Alexandra "Alex" Scott) and he agreed to speak to our volunteers over the 4th of July weekend, we knew we had found a kindred spirit. Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation is making a difference in the lives of children living with childhood cancer worldwide. The Elks Drug Awareness program plans to be a great long term partner for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation."

Jay Scott, Co-Executive Director of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, commented, "We are thrilled to partner with the Elks. We thank them for their dedication to fighting to make the world a better place for our youth and joining Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer."
