On January 11th, I'll be running my first half-marathon and have paired up with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to raise money for childhood cancer research. This is a really great charity and one I'm proud to be a part of. The orginization was started by a young girl, Alex, who herself was diagnosed with a pediatric cancer. Although she ultimately lost her battle with the disease, she helped to raise over a million dollars before her untimely death.
Years later, her parents continued her efforts by officially starting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Their goal is to help find new treatments and cures for these terrible diseases and improve the quality of life for those fighting childhood cancer. ALSF is unique in that it works strategically with researchers all over the country to figure out where each dollar would be best put to use. Furthermore, ALSF helps fulfill nursing grants -- money that goes towards research that helps improve these children's tumultous hospital stays and recovery periods.
While I tackle a personal goal, I'm very happy to be assisting Alex in this hugely important fight as well. Please support me by donating to this great cause! Share this page with all your friends and family so together we can join Alex in this fight.
Thanks!
Daniel
