Hi friends. This year I'm fundraising in honor and memory of four very special boys. First is in honor of Alex. May 2nd marked 17 years since Alex had been diagnosed with leukemia. Alex just finished his Sophomore year at the University of Oregon (GO DUCKS). He's applying to the business school with a hope to go into sports marketing. He's home for the summer and it's so great to see him every day again. Second is in memory of Alex's friend Luke Ydens. Alex and Luke shared a hospital room at Stanford. They shared a love of trains and amusement parks. Alex and Luke became great friends . On August 11, 2001 Luke lost his brave battle with leukemia. We miss him very much. Third is in honor of Mateo Cota. On September 23, 2013, 11 days before his 2nd birthday Mateo was diagnosed with ALL. Mateo reminds me a lot of Alex when he was that age. He is very busy. Always on the go. He rarely lets treatment get him down. There is a reason why his nickname is The Beast. Fourth is Memory of Sam Jeffers. Shortly after starting 2nd grade San started having seizures. An MRI revealed a tumor. He was in treatment using several different chemo's but nothing worked. A MRI in May 2013 showed that the tumor had grown and and their were new tumors. Sam's Oncologist told his family that there was nothing left to be done and to make Sam as happy and comfortable as possible. Sam was at home in hospice for almost 6 months. On Sunday, October 20, 2013 Sam died at home. Please help me support this wonderful organization that helps cancer heroes and their families around the country. Love and Hugs. Jeniene
