I'm not a runner. My husband is the runner in our family. My 3 year-old daughter can run faster than I can. So, why am I running 6.2 miles? Good question. When I first learned of the Disney 10k I wanted to do it, but I wanted it to be with a team and to raise money for a charity. I saw that Alex's Lemonade Stand was a charity working with Disney but they didn't have any spots open. They said they would put me on a wait list. On 12/6 they notified me that a spot was mine if I wanted it. One month out from the 10k and not being a runner...well...that doesn't bode too well for me. But, I'm doing it. I will train as much as a mom-of-two/wife/business owner can and...did I mention it's also the busy holiday season? Yikes. I don't expect to run all 6.2...I'll do what I can. So, this is me, the non-runner, asking you (the kind person that you are :) to donate whatever you can to the charity on behalf of me. Please don't check my finish time, I'm sure it'll approach the maximum they allow. I will barely beat the car that goes by to pick up the slow ones...but I'll do it. :)
