Honor was just 16 months old when we took her to the ER after noticing her eye was lazy and refracting red in the sunlight. The doctors there told us it could be nothing but cancer. We were shocked; even me, her Mom. I am a nurse and never heard of such a thing. I had just lost my father from lung cancer a few months before. We went to Wills Eye Hospital in Philly, where they removed her right eye. The tumor was very aggressive. It usually goes to the bones of the cheek or other eye, while hers went straight back the retinal cord to her brain. Had we not found it she would have likely died within the next month. She received 6 months of chemotherapy and has just finished up. She's doing wonderfully. They are keeping a close eye on her. She has a prosthetic eye and it looks great. In the 3 months she's been off chemo she has grown 2 inches, gained 6 lbs and has about an inch or two of hair!!

Update: Honor is now 8 years old, officially cancer free and cured!
