Type of Childhood Cancer:
Leukemia
Project Description:

The overall purpose of this research is to examine the incidence and potential risk factors associated with diaper dermatitis (DD) in leukemia patients ≤ 36 months old. After determining potential risk factors leading to diaper dermatitis, we can then conduct a prospective study to examine these riskfactors over time along with concurrent prevention measures, treatment, and resultant outcomes. The information gained from this study will add to nurses' ability to effectively provide care and support for patients with DD, thus enhancing the quality of life of young leukemia patients and their families.
