When she was just four-years-old, Alexandra "Alex" Scott held her first childhood cancer fundraiser - a lemonade stand - in her front yard and raised over $2,000. She was fighting neuroblastoma – a type of childhood cancer – and wanted to give the money to help kids like her fight cancer. By the time she died in 2004 at 8-years-old, Alex had raised $1 million and inspired a legacy of hope and cures for childhood cancer.
Today, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) inspires people around the country and the world to host lemonade stands and other events to fund important research. To date, ALSF has funded nearly 1,000 cutting-edge, medical research projects in 150 institutions around the country. The Foundation also offers programs that support families such as Travel For Care and SuperSibs to offer support and improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families.
