Preston loves to make people laugh. He is a caring, fun and super big brother. He understands the sacrifices and challenges that siblings of children with cancer face. Preston enjoys helping his sister spread awareness of childhood cancer by helping with Alex's Lemonade Stands and attending local events.
Preston's sister, Endsley, was diagnosed when she was 2 and he was 4. He was very young, so his family limited his exposure to what was happening with his baby sister. He knew she needed special medicine and lots of trips to the doctor to help her. He was very brave when his sister, grandmother, and mother moved to Texas for 6 weeks while Endsley underwent radiation. When Endsley had to stay in the hospital over Christmas, it ended up being one of the most fun and memorable holidays.
Loving family and friends helped keep Preston's childhood carefree and fun, even during the hard times of chemo and doctor visits for his sister. His grandparents and Dad made sure he had a consistent routine and fun while his sister, grandmother, and mother were away for 6 weeks.
ALSF’s extensive website was a big help to Preston’s mother during Endsley’s treatment. She was able to find resources and connect with other families.
SuperSib quote: "I raise money for ALSF because I know how horrible cancer is for a kid. I don't want anyone else to have to go through that.”
