Fundraising Ideas

We encourage companies to be creative in your fundraising! Think “out of the box” for ways to encourage camaraderie and enthusiasm among departments and within the company while fundraising. Keep a positive and upbeat attitude when organizing and planning challenges and make them fun for everyone! A few ideas are listed below if you need help getting started:

• Set up an Alex’s Lemonade Stand in your company lobby or cafeteria.
• Plan your own unique company wide event to raise money for ALSF.
• Have an ALSF themed “desk decorating contest.”
• Lemon Twist Auction: Ask employees to donate items for a special silent auction. Items can include homemade or handmade items as well as special talents. Management can donate a day off, a special parking spot, box seat to sporting event, show or a vacation. Don’t forget to ask vendors to contribute!
• Sell paper lemons within the company or to your customers and display them in a prominent space.
• Utilize your company match program to easily increase donations.
• Organize an interdepartmental Team Sports Challenge. Charge an entry fee for each participant to participate in an activity such as bowling, mini-golf or kickball.
• Host an Office Olympics comprised of individual competitions. Raise money by asking employees to donate in order to compete in an event such as a jump rope challenge or pie eating contest.
• Pay to dress in a certain style or decorate your work area to promote ALSF. Host a dress down day, wear yellow day or dress up in a certain style (e.g. 80’s style) day.
• Host a Talent Show or Art Show.
• Participate in ALSF’s coin collecting program where departments compete for the most change raised.
• Host a cupcake bake-off or cook-off challenge in your company cafeteria. Set up a judging area and have colleagues pay for a chance to sample and vote on their favorite item.
