Meet the Easom family, ALSF's Childhood Cancer Hero family representing the many kids affected by cancer in Arizona this year.
Alex's Lemonade Days is an annual 3-day fundraiser where supporters from coast to coast hold lemonade stands in a unified effort to raise funds for childhood cancer research. Support this family and all kids with cancer by hosting an Alex's Lemonade Stand in your hometown!
April 9, 2006 was the day the Easoms' world fell apart. They heard the awful words, "Your daughter has cancer.” Ilaria was diagnosed with yolk sac germ cell cancer three days after her third birthday. The only indication that something was wrong had been a persistent backache. A CT scan revealed a fast-growing tumor the size of an adult fist in the center of her chest cavity. Ilaria is in remission now, but she lost much of her hearing as a side effect of treatment. The family is participating in Lemonade Days to help find better treatments and cures for children like their daughter.
They held their first annual lemonade stand in October 2006, and this year are participating during Alex's Lemonade Days, June 12-14, 2015. Read more about Ilaria, childhood cancer hero.
