raymeer

By: Trish Adkins

Raymeer was diagnosed with an undifferentiated soft tissue sarcoma when he was just 4 months old. Today, Raymeer is cancer free and just graduated Pre-K.

To recognize his achievement, Raymeer’s family planned a special drive-by celebration. The Camden County Police even joined in the festivities.

“This is a big deal and a milestone for my son. For anyone who wonders why this is a big deal, well, my son is a cancer survivor, that is why!” said Raymeer’s mom Torey.

While so many celebrations were muted this year, we know that graduations are a big deal for our amazing hero families. Here are more graduation stories from ALSF Hero and SuperSibs:

1.    Maggie
Maggie, sister to Maeve (another SuperSib) and childhood cancer hero Cole, graduated high school this year. Maggie will head to Temple University.

2.    Travis
Travis, who has battled an inoperable brain tumor for half his life, received his high school diploma in June. Travis wants to someday work in research to help find cures for other kids.

3.    Lily and Chloe
Lily, who celebrated 13 years cancer-free in May, celebrated her 8th grade graduation; while her SuperSib Chloe, graduated 5th grade.

4.    Tyler and Lilly
Lilly began cancer treatment for the second time right before Pre-K started in September. In the Fall, she is off to kindergarten. Her older brother Tyler graduated high school and will continue onto college in the Fall.

5.    Natalie and Ethan
Natalie was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma when she was 21 months old. This June, she graduated middle school and is heading to high school. Her younger brother Ethan is off to middle school!
