As we move away from the warm summer months and instead of drinking lemonade, we start to think about hot chocolate to keep us warm, there are still many ways to be involved in the battle against childhood cancer. While many of us will continue to hold lemonade stands inside, or substitute hot beverages for the colder ones, there are several other ways to raise funds and awareness– including through Team Lemon.
Team Lemon may be deemed the “athletic” arm of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, but you don’t have to be an athlete to participate! In fact Team Lemon simply invites you to take part in an athletic event and show your support for ALSF at the same time. Whether it’s a triathlon, a 26.2 mile marathon or even a bike ride through your town or city, the concept is the same – sign up, raise funds and have a great time knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of kids with cancer. Team Lemon started after we realized that many of our supporters participated in athletic events. Many would choose to form teams, hold fundraising events, and simply tell their friends about what they were doing. So, we decided to take it to the next level, lend our support and extend an invitation to athletes of all calibers all across the country to join the battle against childhood cancer through Team Lemon!
If challenging yourself to race while raising funds for childhood cancer isn’t enough of an incentive, there are several other “perks” that coincide with joining Team Lemon. Here are just a few:
- Access to an expert race coach to help you prepare physically for your race.
- The opportunity to purchase exclusive Team Lemon apparel.
- Fundraising incentives – raise funds and gain ALSF merchandise, access to sold out races and even tickets to our special events!
