This year our lemonade stand is being held in loving memory of Darla Howell: a loving mother, wife, daughter, and friend. In Loving Memory of Darla 
 

Darla was a true spitfire — bold, bright, and impossible to ignore. She lit up every room she walked into with her vibrant spirit, quick wit, and a heart that overflowed with love. As a devoted homemaker, mother, wife, and self-proclaimed fashionista, Darla lived life with flair and purpose. 

She found joy in the simple, meaningful moments: sharing laughs with family, bonding with friends, and caring deeply for animals. She and her daughter Joann shared a special bond, often spending time together writing imaginative stories and picking out the perfect outfits. Darla was Joann’s fiercest supporter, especially when it came to music and school concerts — always in the front row, always beaming with pride. 

In honor of Darla’s generous and loving spirit, Joann and her classmates dedicate their participation in this year’s Alex’s Lemonade Stand fundraiser to her memory. They’ve proudly contributed to this cause for years, and this year, they carry Darla’s love for community, family, and joy in their hearts as they give back. 

Darla’s endless love will continue to inspire everyone who knew her. We remember her not with sadness, but with gratitude — for the color, laughter, and love she brought into our lives.
