My 4th grade class is holding a fundraiser to help Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation move one step closer to finding a cure for all children with cancer! The money you donate will pay for research to find better treatments and cures for childhood cancer. Please help kids and their families by providing desperately needed hope! Thanks for your support!
This year our class is holding our annual lemonade stand in memory of Bryan Ramirez (the late cousin of Sofia, Saide, and Sebastian Delgado). Please take some time to read about him.
Bryan Ramirez was one of Sofia and Sebastian’s favorite people in the entire universe. The sweetest, kindest person you could ever meet, he loved Legos, Bobbleheads, playing Fortnite with Sebastian and his friends, and Pokemon Go and Roblox with Sofia. And he loved his family, family get-togethers, and showing off his newly acquired guitar skills to us during our summer BBQs in the yard (he played a really great “Hurt” on the guitar, which he erroneously thought had been written by Johnny Cash before his tía Yuli told him about NIN, lol). His dream was to become a teacher; he had started college and was working toward that goal, but then we got the worst news a family could ever get: Bryan was diagnosed with a super rare and very aggressive cancer, Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumors (DSRCT), which started in his abdominal area. He took time off from school and began his treatment. This cancer was aggressive, but Bryan was determined to kick its butt. But the tumors spread faster than he could fight them. Bryan rested in power on March 6 at just 20 (he would have been 21 on June 4). His family, who he loved more than anything, are very grateful and honored that Alex’s Lemonade Stand at CPS is in Bryan’s name this year. We hope Bryan’s superpower, positivity and courage in the face of every hurdle, inspires everyone at CPS and beyond.
