When
During September, go the distance with us for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and join our Million Mile team!
We track our miles in September in honor of our beautiful girl, Lily. Lily is 18 years old, a freshman rowing for the Dominican University of New York crew team, and a 17 year survivor of ependymoma, a rare pediatric brain tumor. After Lily’s diagnosis at 14 months old, doctors told us that she would never walk a mile—let alone run one.
If you know Lily, you know she does much more than walk or run a mile. She is an incredible athlete, who recently placed 2nd in the nation as a PR3 youth pararower. Lily is an outspoken advocate for inclusion in sports and probably one of the best friends (and daughters and sisters) you could ever know.
We want every child to have a future like Lily’s—one full of hope, promise and doing the things that give them joy. Our family is dedicated to the mission of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation of funding impactful research and supporting families throughout treatment.
Join team #BigLemonade! Walk, bike, run and row your way to Million Miles! Every step we take and track in September will add up to BIG awareness and a cure, one mile at a time!
Rowers, you can convert and track your time on the Erg or the water to miles that count for the distance our team goes. (500m = .3 miles; 1k=.62; 2k=1.24).
Thank you for pledging your miles to our team this September!
