For the past 10 years our family has held a lemonade stand in our front yard with all proceeds going to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. Our events have allowed us to teach generosity and empathy to our children, make others aware of ALSF and has been among the things we are most proud of in our lives. Our “little” front yard lemonade stand has raised more than $200,000 to help ALSF's efforts--an amazing accomplishment that is only possible because of the incredible generosity of friends, family, neighbors and a few complete strangers.
We realize how blessed we are to have happy and healthy children and we also realize how time is fleeting on their childhood. Between activities, sports and school functions we've been trying to soak in the time we have left with our kids before they are off to college. That time has impacted out ability to go "all out" like we normally do for our ALSF event. That being said, we will ALWAYS support ALSF, but have to scale back our lemonade stand this year. So... instead of a huge event, we've inviting you to support our lemonade stand efforts virtually by visiting our ALSF website and considering a donation. We may hold a few mini-events throughout the summer as well, but that is still TBD. Our hope is that through our hard work and dedication to ALSF we have made a difference to pediatric cancer patients and their families, but also to others who have learned about ALSF through our events. We hope that Alex’s determination, fighting spirit and generous heart will continue to live through all of you who have been a part of our last 10 lemonade stands, and to those who participate this year (even though it looks a little different).
