This fundraiser ran from 4/20/12 - 5/20/12. In that time, many generous people contributed. My original goal was $500, but that was met the first week, so I figured I'd shoot for the moon and upped it to $2012. To my surprise, the total amount raised in the end was $3322*. Thank you to my mom and dad, all their friends and coworkers who donated and spread the word (including KHA and Microsoft), my friends who did the same, and all of the anonymous donors. While this fundraiser was active, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia announced development of a pill that has shown great promise in treating one rare form of neuroblastoma (among other cancers). The money you donated goes towards projects like that. It makes a difference. This project will make a difference, because of you. So, from me and from Max and from all the other kids with cancer - THANK YOU!
History: My name is Arthur and I am a senior in high school. My little brother, Max, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a cancer of the sympathetic nervous system, when he was 4 months old. For my senior project, I was supposed to find a way to make a difference in the world, and it needed to be related to something I care about. One of the things I care most about is Max, and finding a cure for him and all the other kids fighting cancer would definitely make a difference in the world. I had one month to raise as much money (online) as possible to help find a cure. Thanks for helping me do it! XD
* - $3172 plus a $50 check and a corporate matching donation from Microsoft of $100 that haven't been processed yet.
