As you all know I am extremely passionate about running. This year however has proven to be a difficult one. After completing the majority of my training for the Long Island Marathon in May I wound up with a broken Fibula and had to sit it out. I made it through that because I knew I had gotten into the NYC Marathon, every runners dream, right? Well Hurricane Sandy hit and with less than 48 hours to the start the NYC marathon was cancelled. It was pretty upsetting considering the amount I trained. However, we took a trip into Staten Island and saw first hand the devastation Sandy caused and I have to admit I felt pretty shallow for feeling bad for myself. Any way I have been fortunate enough to be allowed to run the Philadelphia Marathon through the charity Alex's Lemonade Stand. This is the best of both worlds because my training won't go to waste and I get the opportunity to help raise money for pediatric cancer.
