Did a nice two-miler tonight after not getting out to run for a while. First mile clocked in at a 9:15! AWESOME!!! I walked for a minute, ran about half a mile, walked another minute, then ran out the rest. Second mile clocked in at 10:30. My whole workout was a 19:45, which is awesome, especially since I walked so much of the second mile.

My first official 5k is two weeks from tomorrow, and I'm already starting to get really excited. I'm really hoping for a sub-30, but I'll be perfectly content with a sub-33 :D

This is yesterday's run, since I didn't get the chance to update last night.

I went down to Saylor at around 5PM. It was hotter yesterday than it had been the last time I'd run at that time. A lot hotter.

First mile, I got a 9:59. I felt pretty crappy about it, since I hadn't beaten the 9:55 I got the other day. But I realized it was a lot warmer, not breezy, and it was a difference of 4 seconds.

Second mile clocked in at a 10:50. Ouch >.< I turned around to head back to the park, and I walked for about a minute. Ran for a while, walked for a bit, ran for a while, walked for a little bit, then ran out the rest of the mile.

The third one clocked in at an 11:17. Overall, I went 5k in 32:06!!! I got a sub-33, and I know when I get up to running the whole thing, I'll be able to run a sub-30! I'm so pumped!!

Today was my first official training run as a Team Lemon member! That really excited me and pushed me to do better than I have on previous runs, and that it did.

Ran on Ghost Town out of Saylor Park around 5PM, and it was fabulous. The humidity was pretty heavy, but it wasn't hot outside. First mile, I ran at a 9:55. I turned to go back, since today was a short run day after a lot of stomach problems today. On my mile going back, I knew there was no way I was going to make it in under twenty; I had gone all out for the first mile, nearly sprinting out.

Well, I come over the bridge and my Runkeeper is at about 19:30 and I thought, "Hey, I can do this!!" So I put on the rush and made it across the mile marker at 19:50, to run exactly another 9:55. It felt fantastic!!

Can't wait to document more of my training on here!

Keep up the great work! -Jen at Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
