Hi everyone. As most of you know, I have avoided running for most of my life. Even when I was on the cross country team for a year in high school, I didn't seem to run all that much. For some reason, at the age of 31, I decided to start, which led me to sign up for Philadelphia's Broad Street Run on May 6, 2012. At 10 miles, it will be the longest distance I have ever run, and I am excited for the challenge. For slightly longer than I have been running, I have been involved with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Alex's is a fantastic organization dedicated to raising money and awareness of childhood cancer causes, primarily through research into new treatments and cures; providing support for families with children who have cancer; and empowering everyone - including children - to get involved and make a difference for children with cancer. The organization is truly inspiring, and I consider myself very fortunate to have an opportunity to help them out. Although based in Philadelphia, Alex's impact can be felt all over the country. I encourage you to find out more and get involved, wherever you live. Please help me fight childhood cancer, one dollar, mile and cup at a time! Thanks for your generosity and support.
