Thea Danze is proud to host a Lemonade Stand at the second annual “Pledge Project: Standing Together Against Cancer” scheduled for Saturday, June 11 from noon to 3 p.m. at Rowan University’s baseball stadium in Glassboro, New Jersey. The event takes place during a regular season New Jersey Independent Baseball League (NJIBL) game featuring the Washington Township Senators and the Jersey Devils.

“Pledge Project,” is an annual cancer awareness and fundraising event that features prizes, raffles and family-friendly activities (bounce house, face painting, etc.). All proceeds from the day will go to organizations that fight cancer. In addition to the lemonade stand, other participating organizations include LUNGevity, the American Cancer Society and the Zach & Holly Zajack Education Fund.

Pledge Project honors Edward Zajack who lost his battle with lung cancer in March, 2010 at 38 years of age, leaving behind his wife and two young children, aged seven and four.

Each time the Danze family visits the Alex Scott day hospital for treatment, we are reminded of Alex’s courageous battle and the amazing legacy of awareness and research she inspired. We hope to raise at least $2,500 to support her cause.
