For many years, I've been a big fan of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation.  Alex was the daughter of one of my sales reps when I worked.  She was diagnosed with brain cancer when she was one year old.  When she was four, she told her parents she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to help other kids with cancer.  Alex died at the age of 8 but had raised $1 million dollars by that time.  Jay and Liz, her parents, have kept her legacy going strong.  ALSF has raised more than $300M since Alex held her first lemonade stand!  Here's what they do with the money:

• Fund research at more than 150 non-profit research institutions across the United States, Canada & Europe.

• Help families throughout North America by providing travel assistance, so they are able to get to innovative treatments and clinical trials away from their home hospital.

• Encourage and empower siblings of kids with cancer with mailings and resources so they can face the future with courage and hope

For many years, Alex has been a source of personal inspiration to me.  I am, once again participating in the ALSF Million Mile Challenge.  I set a goal of 175 miles this month to raise $2,000 for ALSF.  ALSF corporate sponsorships/matches do not count toward my goal, but if your have an employer that does, their matching gifts will.

I feel so blessed that none of my nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews nor great great nieces and nephews have had to suffer this tragic disease.  I would appreciate any donation you can make to help these kids and their families.
