We are participating in Lemonade Days in an effort to raise money for Rhabdoid Tumor research. Last year, our collective fundraising in memory of Juno managed to raise over $10,000!!! We are so excited to see what everyone can accomplish this year.
Our beautiful firstborn son, Juno Augustus Wolff, was born October 11, 2022. He was diagnosed with Malignant Rhabdoid Tumor at only 9 weeks old and passed away on February 2, 2023 at almost 4 months old. Juno was such a happy, curious, and loving little guy. His vast and enduring spirit made a tremendous impact on countless people. We are so blessed to have known pure joy and happiness through the beautiful blue eyes and laughter of our beloved firstborn son. He deserved a full and healthy life alongside us.
Rhabdoid tumor is very rare and very aggressive. There are only about 20 kids that are diagnosed in the U.S. each year with it, and there is no standard protocol or targeted treatment available because there has not been enough research to establish one. The reality is that pharmaceutical companies are not incentivized to search for effective treatment because it is so rare that it would not be considered profitable. As it stands, only about 8% of the national budget for cancer research goes towards all childhood cancers in general, so funding is severely lacking for the cancers that are more uncommon.
We want to help create a world where children are given a chance to live despite these unjust barriers. A world where no other parent has to endure the pain we endure every day. Please help us take a stand against childhood cancer. Ever dollar makes a difference!
