When
We are back--our team has been participating in The Million Mile since the beginning and has raised over $200,000 total!
Why do we do this? September is childhood cancer awareness month and it is a reminder to us how important it is to support cures for kids and resources for families who are affected. Our efforts are inspired by our daughters, Alex Scott, founder of Alex's Lemonade Stand, and her best friend Carly Hillman but we push forward all children battling cancer in our hearts.
Alex and Carly met when they were both in treatment at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2001. Throughout Alex's life, they remained true friends, they shared the fight against cancer but shared so much more -- a love of animals, crafts, and just being together.
Alex passed away in 2004 at the age of 8 but remains a daily inspiration to so many. Carly is now 31 years old and is thriving! Two amazing people who both represent hope for all children with cancer.
Once again we have set high a goal for our team because their friendship and inspiration motivate us to do our very best for all kids battling cancer.
We appreciate your support. Join our team, raise some money, or donate!
Gratefully,
Liz Scott and Jocelyn Hillman
