Friends,
At age 60, I'm attempting to run the New York City Marathon on November 7, 2021. My inspiration is a young girl named Emmy Masciantonio. Emmy was diagnosed a year ago as a 1-year-old with a rare, aggressive cancer of the central nervous system (ATRT). Her parents are both Cumberland Valley S. D. grads. and their family are friends of ours.
Emmy has been a warrior over the past year and has come through her treatments with the courage of someone much older. She is doing well, but has a long road ahead of her. Emmy is fortunate to have Casey and Phil as parents that are “all in” and doing everything possible to help their little girl.
I am honoring Emmy by raising money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), whose main purpose is to find cures for childhood cancer. All money raised will go to ALSF, specifically earmarked to research cures for ATRT. I will match any contributions that you are kind enough to donate.
Let’s rally around Emmy!
