fEvery day, there are almost 700 new cases of childhood cancer around the world. This adds up to an estimated 250,000 new cases of cancer that affects children under the age of 20 each year worldwide. And yet, childhood cancer is vastly and consistently underfunded with less than 4% of the federal government's total funding for cancer research dedicated to childhood cancers each year.

I have chosen to run for Team Lemon for a very personal reason.  I have watched two of my nieces best friends fight this unfortunate battle.  Both Michael and Hannah fought with amazing strength and courage.  I watched my nieces be the most amazing friends and have to grow up way before their time.  While Micheal and Hannah are no longer here to fight, I watch my nieces fight for their memory, for a cure, every year in honor of these two lives taken too soon.  I see their hurt, their struggle, and their detemination to help find a cure for childhood cancer.  I am in awe of their passion and wanted to do my part, so in memory of Michael and Hannah I am running this race and am asking you to run with me.  Please consider donating to such a fabulous organization!   HOPE FAITH COURAGE!    LOVE ALWAYS WINS!!
