My 2-year-old niece Ava Rose was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on November 15th, 2017. Since then she has been receiving chemotherapy and other treatments. Though she is going through this awful situation, she is still a happy little girl. For my birthday, Facebook asked if I wanted to start a fundraiser and I knew I wanted to do one for an organization that helps to fund research and support for childhood cancer. The story of Alex really resonated with me and my family when choosing an organization, which is why we decided to go with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Through my Facebook fundraiser, we were able to raise over $11,000 in just two weeks! I am hoping that in the summer when Ava is feeling better, we can hold a lemonade stand in our local town to raise more for ALSF!
