On January 22, 2015, our precious 12 year old daughter Peyton was diagnosed with High Risk Pre-B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Our family was devasted. Peyton began treatment on January 23, and is currently in treatment for leukemia at Texas Children's Hospital.
Through Northwestern Mutual, we learned of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, and we knew...Peyton knew...our family wanted to be involved with an organization whose greatest hope is to find a cure for childhood cancer.
With childhood cancer research being the least funded of all cancer researches, Peyton has dedicated her lemonade stand to raising funds specifically for leukemia research. Leukemia is one of the most common forms of childhood cancer. The treatment for leukemia is long and intense. Peyton is currently in her second year of treatment, and hopes to ring that golden bell sometime in 2017.
We hope you will partner with Peyton and our family, and help Peyton reach her goal of $13,000, 13 being the age Peyton is now. We hope to make sweet, delicious lemonade instead of tears!
Love,
The Richardson Family
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation has selected 36 families as Lemonade Days Hero Reps during Alex’s Lemonade Days. The 36 Lemonade Days Hero Reps symbolically represent the 36 children diagnosed with cancer daily in the U.S. Each family has been personally impacted by childhood cancer and will spread awareness about the ongoing childhood cancer fight by sharing their personal journeys. As a part of their Lemonade Days Hero Family duties, the families will each hold a lemonade stand during Alex’s Lemonade Days, spread awareness of their initiatives to their communities and enlist community members to host their own stands.
