Kids are the heroes!!!
September is "National Childhood Cancer Awareness" month! Approximately 175,000 children are diagnosed per year. Let's empower ourselves to do what we can to contribute towards the research for the cure.
The lemon drops represent children who are heroes in their battle against cancer!
January of 2013 my nieces son Connor was diagnosed with “Ewing sarcoma”, "Childhood Bone Cancer". A blue cell tumor on his lungs. Diagnosed at 4 years old, the impact it had on our family was overwhelming and could not be put into words. For months their family persevered through the pain and struggle all parents must go through when witnessing endless obtrusive treatments, numerous operations and medications Conner had to endure. Through a great deal of support, love, faith and prayers they made it through together as a family. Fast forward to 2 years later Conner continues to be in remission, living life to its fullest! An inspiration to everyone in our family! 18+ months scans still clean! NED!! Our prayers have been answered! He’s the families hero!
In October of 2013 my daughter and I made plans to go skydiving for her 25th birthday. What better way not only to celebrate my daughters birthday and also bring continued awareness and prayers for Conner and their family than to wear the t-shirts my niece had made up for “Conner's Crusade”. “Any/all support Conner and their family would receive meant so much to them”, so I took few a minutes right before our jump to make a dedication to my nieces family along with birthday wishes for my daughter. (All on video)
In honor of Alex’s Lemonade Stand, in tribute to all children battling cancer and those who have been lost to this horrific decease, this year my daughter and niece (Conner's mom) and I will be tandem skydiving again to promote “Alex’s Lemonade Stand”, an organization recommended by my niece who has now dedicated much of her daily life to the cause. It's also in honor of "Conners Crusade" (FB). What better way to not only celebrate my birthday than to pay it forward in order to provide "ALSF" research money they so desperately need!
A video will be posted following our jump! The songs I've picked to play during the experience are directed in honor of the the kids who are battling for their lives! Each song has it's own unique message:))
Please lend your support to honor this incredible cause!
We are forever grateful!
Thank You!
