Hi, my name is Zip-Brandy and I am the Elf on the Shelf that has been assigned to the DuPriest Family. I was so lucky to be assigned to this family and watch and report back to Santa about their children. I have always been able to be myself with them. They loved my mischievous ways and my kids have always played along and were so thrilled with my visits and antics. I absolutely love these kids and my job!!
However this year I have been very sad because one of my children is beyond my jurisdiction now and I can no longer watch her and all of her wonderful adventures and witty silliness. Usually this only happens when our children become adults or stop believing in Santa but my little girl Jordan has been given wings and has become an Angel. She no longer needs watching over but is now able to watch over others.
This has made me so sad and I miss her so much. I asked Santa what can I do, I feel so lost and helpless. Santa told me that I could honor her memory and celebrate her life by doing things that Jordan would love. So I sat long and I thought hard, which is very tiring work for me. And then I remembered how Jordan loved helping others and was so positive. One year for Christmas I gave her a can of tomatoes (she hated tomatoes) and gave her brother a can of tuna (he hated tuna), this was a test to see if they would be ungrateful and naughty but Jordan made the best of my tricky gifts and was so excited to use her tomatoes to make thunder cake and wanted to run outside in the cold with the tuna to give to the stray cats in the neighborhood.
So to honor my wonderful little girl who is so far away, I called up some of the elves in Santa's shop and we stayed up late with lots of cocoa and gingerbread cookies and we built a lemonade stand. I am asking all of my friends at the North Pole and all over the world to donate in Jordan's name.
Elves don't get paid much; we basically work for gum drops and giggles, so I want all my friends to know that no donation is too small. Take a break from what you are doing, relax and have a virtual cup in honor of Jordan and donate $2 online.
With much appreciation and a very Merry Holiday :-)
