The fun continues at VIP After Party with booze, bites, and an epic block party

Philadelphia, PA (April 14, 2014) – The Vetri Foundation for Children announces Grammy Award winning artist, Questlove as the official DJ for the Great Chefs Event VIP after party. The after party will once again take place at Alla Spina, a Vetri family restaurant, promptly after the Great Chefs Event on Tuesday, June 10 from 9:30pm-2:00am. This is the third time in the past four years VIPs attending the event will get to hear one of the world’s preeminent DJ’s spin his musical magic at the exclusive after party.

Questlove, a Philadelphia native, is a founding member of The Legendary Roots Crew and Musical Director for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where The Roots also serve as the house band. His appearance at this year’s Great Chefs Event VIP after party exhibits his long standing support of Marc Vetri and his work with the charities behind the event (Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and The Vetri Foundation for Children).

The Great Chefs Event VIP after party shuts down Mount Vernon St., with participating chefs, event sponsors and Philadelphia’s finest numbering in the hundreds spilling out onto the street. The after party is a fun and lighthearted way to thank the participating chefs, volunteers, event organizers, and everyone who sponsored the notable philanthropic tasting event. Year after year, The Vetri Foundation for Children and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation aim to create an after hours party where the chefs can relax and have fun and VIP ticketholders can have a true industry insider experience.

In addition to an appearance by the one and only Questlove, and rubbing elbows with more than 40 of the hottest chefs including Marc Vetri, Jose Garces, Tom Colicchio, Jonathan Waxman, Tony Montuano, and Michael Symon, those with after party access will get exclusive late night bites from Nomad Pizza, Vetri family restaurants, and Adam Perry Lang of NY and LA (author of Serious Barbecue, BBQ25, Charred & Scruffed).

Chef Brad Spence , chef and co-owner of Amis, continues the annual Vetri tradition of mortadella on an epic scale. For this year’s VIP after party, Spence has teamed up with Victory Brewing Co. to prepare a 200 lb. mortadella, stuffed into a natural casing. Cooked in a fermenting cask for 24 hours at the brewery, the giant mortadella will be transported back to Alla Spina and carved to order, served with mayo and hot pepper relish.

Access to the after-party is limited to sponsors and After Party Access ticket holders. Only 100 After Party Access Tickets are being sold for $525.00 each and can be purchased through www.vetrifoundation.org. General admission tickets are available for $350.00.

Sponsorship opportunities begin at $1,000.00 and also include access to the VIP after party. For information on how to become a sponsor, contact Genevieve Lynch at the Vetri Foundation for Children, (215-600-2630), [email protected].

About Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $75 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 375 pediatric cancer research projects nationally. About The Vetri Foundation for Children

Founded in 2008 as a result of its affiliation with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, the Vetri Foundation for Children was established to help kids experience the connection between healthy eating and healthy living. Their goal is to give children the nutritional foundation they need to grow and thrive. Current initiatives include the development of “Eatiquette,” a program that helps schools provide healthy, scratch made meals while working within the federal guidelines for the National School Lunch Program. Students eat family style, allowing them to practice life skills such as teamwork, communication, manners and portion control while receiving fresh, nutritious lunches. The Vetri Foundation for Children is a 501(c) 3 organization. For more information, please visit www.vetrifoundation.org
