Lancaster, Pa. (July 21, 2014) – The facts are startling. One in every 330 children develops cancer before the age of 20.Auntie Anne’s is continuing the fight against childhood cancer by teaming up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation with the goal of funding 10,000 hours of research to find cures for the mini but mighty fighters battling cancer.
Beginning today, Monday, July 21 through Monday, September 15, Auntie Anne’s will be asking guests to “join in the mighty fight against childhood cancer” by visiting their local store and purchasing an Auntie Anne’s customized pretzel ribbon icon for $1. As a token of appreciation, Auntie Anne’s will provide a coupon for $1 off the next purchase of any pretzel product and drink. One hundred percent of proceeds collected through the in-store campaign will be donated to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.
“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in its mission of raising awareness and funds to fight childhood cancer, primarily through research into new treatments and cures. While Auntie Anne’s has raised more than one million dollars since partnering with the Foundation in September 2011, the fight is far from over,” said Bill Dunn, Auntie Anne’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “The Foundation’s vision of finding a cure for all children with cancer was started by its founder, Alexandra “Alex” Scott before she lost her life to cancer way too soon at the age of eight years old, and we want to help make her vision a reality. We encourage our guests to join us in the fight and remember no donation is too small to make a difference. ”
This is Auntie Anne’s third annual nationwide fundraising campaign for Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation. To increase awareness of the mighty fight against childhood cancer, the iconic pretzel brand will also launch a social fundraising campaign on Monday, July 28. Across the country, donors will be able to show their support by donating to the mighty fight online and receiving a coupon for their next visit to Auntie Anne’s.
In addition to supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation at its nearly 1,120 U.S. locations, Auntie Anne’s will be introducing a limited time only Peach Lemonade Mixer. The Peach Lemonade Mixer will be the newest addition to the Mixer lineup that includes Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Mango and Strawberry. As with all lemonade beverages at Auntie Anne’s, the Peach Mixer will be made with Anne’s original lemonade recipe.

ABOUT ALEX’S LEMONADE STAND FOUNDATION
Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation bearing her name has evolved into a national fundraising movement, complete with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope. To date, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 charity, has raised more than $80 million toward fulfilling Alex’s dream of finding a cure, funding over 450 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.
