In 2012, Northwestern Mutual launched its signature national philanthropic program to accelerate the search for a cure to childhood cancer providing support to families battling the disease and survivors struggling with treatment late effects.

Our long-term commitment harnesses the passion and spirit of thousands of Northwestern Mutual employees and financial representatives as well as their families, friends, clients and the Northwestern Mutual Foundation to make an impact.

As part of this program, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) and Northwestern Mutual are working together to support several specific programs:

  • The ALSF Family Travel For Care Program to assist families facing travel costs associated with helping their children receive life-saving treatments away from home.
  • Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Young Investigators Summit – the annual Summit provides an opportunity for ALSF's Young Investigator Grant recipients to foster scientific collaboration and interact with the leading researchers in the pediatric oncology field.
  • Northwestern Mutual is the exclusive funder of four Young Investigator grant recipients.

Northwestern Mutual financial representatives and employees are also hosting their own Alex's Lemonade Stand fundraisers in their communities across the country to raise funds and spread awareness.
